ICARC Bylaws


ARTICLE I - PURPOSES

The purpose of the Iowa City Amateur Radio Club (the “Corporation”) shall be to promote social welfare, including but not limited to promoting personal contacts between licensed radio amateurs in Iowa city and the surrounding area, to promote technical cooperation between members, to encourage increased operating efficiency and courtesy, to generally advance the interest in and welfare of amateur radio in the community, to introduce amateur radio in the community, to introduce amateur radio interested and to provide assistance to non profit and emergency management organization. The Corporation is not organized for profit. No part of the net earnings of the Corporation shall inure to the benefit of any director or officer of the Corporation, or any private individual (except that reasonable compensation may be paid for services rendered to or for the Corporation affecting one or more of its purposes), and no director or officer of the Corporation, or any private individual, shall be entitled to share in the distribution of any of the corporate assets on the dissolution of the Corporation. The Corporation shall have no power to take any action that would be inconsistent with the requirements of tax exemption under section 501(c)(4) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or any corresponding provision of any future United States Internal Revenue Code.
