ICARC Meeting Minutes   

June 9, 2010

  1. The meeting was called to order by club president KØLUM at 7:30 PM. 19 Hams were present.
  2. Club Secretary KØACP read the meeting minutes. Minutes were accepted.
  3. Club Treasurer, KCØJFQ reported a healthy balance in the bank. Insurance was paid.
  4. WØICY will be Net Control for June/July.
    1. KIØJP will be backup.
  5. Next month's meeting will be the annual junk in the trunk meeting in the parking lot of TrueArt.
  6. HAMRAD - WWØQ.
    1. Thanks to all that participated in the Duane Arnold walkthrough
    2. Documentation will be updated to be consistent with command standards.
    3. In the Aug / Sept timeframe JCEMA will reissue ID cards.
  7. Repeater report.
    1. Squelch was loosened to support remote weak signal access.
    2. DTMF was adjusted.
  8. Old Business.
    1. KØLUM requested purchase of equipment tubs.
    2. Rich, W3ACO will inventory all electronics.
  9. Looking for ICARC support for a Bicycle ride.
  10. Looking for ICARC support for a Triathlon on August 1 at Sugarbottom.
  11. New Business.
    1. WØICY mentioned that the Davenport 146.88 MHz repeater was back on the air using a 192.8 PL tone (standard for Eastern Iowa).
  12. Solon Parade July 17 needs ICARC support.
Meeting broke at 8:00 PM by KØLUM.
  1. Field Day - Albert - NØPFT.
    1. MS Project Plan.
    2. 20M vertical was built.
    3. CW operations by Dick Lamb.
    4. KØACP will co-ordinate chow.
      1. Burgers.
      2. Brats - boiled prior.
      3. Chicken and Veggie by Hy-Vee.
      4. Baked Beans.
      5. Buns.
      6. Ketchup, mustard.
      7. Relish.
      8. Folks to bring covered dish.
      9. Plates.
      10. Cooler with A&W Root Beer, soda, water, and Gatorade.
    5. N3FJP Logging software will be used; 3 logging computers & server.
    6. KØLUM will issue media alert.
    7. KØLUM will invite BJ Dvorak, IC Mayor, and Chief of Police.
    8. NØPFT will canvas members for participation.
    9. Antenna setup will be 4:00 PM on Friday.
    10. W3ACO will be requested to bring spud gun & spool of cord.
    11. Mark, NØRXD, will rent Honda generator.
    12. KØKK will bring weather radio.
    13. KØLUM will bring yellow caution tape & steel poles & milk jugs.
    14. NØPFT - KDØJHW will work with KIØJP to do net message traffic.
    15. Saturday setup 9:00 AM.
    16. Start operating at 1:00 PM.
    17. NØRXD will bring 2M base.
    18. KØCF will copy ARRL Field Day message on RTTY.
  2. Meeting was adjourned at 8:50 PM.
